Just found this in the files......

The Bruneval Raid was a daring night time raid by airborne forces to capture a German coastal radar installation in France in 1942. In the early nineties I travelled to Bruneval with a lot of the men (then in their late sixties) who jumped on that night to take part in the raid, along with some of 2 Para, the Parachute Regiment. The plan was for some of the veterans to reenact the jump, however the weather was deemed too risky for these ageing men to take part. However, the men of 2 Para re-enacted the jump, watched by the veterans. Sadly this poor quality scan is all I have left of my photographs from the trip. Most if not all of those guys are probably gone now, and I was too young to appreciate the honour of being in their company.
